Namma Bengaluru!


"Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer."

This article is not really about architecture but it is about an architect's love for travel. It's been two years and seven months and Bengaluru has more than changed my life. Living life independently on your own terms and your's alone has it's own perks.

Broadly, there are supposed to be three phases in our lives and so we have been told. Phase 1: When you are a kid-you have all the energy and time but no money. Phase 2: When you are an earner- you have money and energy but no time, and Phase 3: When you are retired- you have time, you have money but no energy.

So what do we do? We manage the little time, save and use the little money we have and all of our energy, in an age when we have almost no responsibilities, no worries, i.e. only if we allow ourselves to.

Life is a celebration. That is what Bengaluru has taught me. It is full of enthusiastic people who earn, eat and travel, experience the rich culture this city has from every corner of the world. If we talk about food... well, it might take me a whole new blog to express about the love for food that Bengaluru has!

As an architect, who works in Bangalore(or a place like this), even site visits to outskirts are a delight, which I haven't documented (perhaps some other time and post). For the time being, I made some effort to document places I have travelled managing time off work, in and around Bangalore, in form of pictures...hope you enjoy the collection and try to travel more, if you haven't been yet and enrich your soul!

Give me Wings!-not everything is on the internet.

I told my Boss's wife ,I want to quit as my thesis is about to start and I need time for preparation for my masters,a very dumb excuse,I know. But,somehow, whatever she said,convinced me not to leave.I was not a quitter. I sat in front of the computer and instead of looking for "interior ideas for bedrooms" I searched for Butterflies! Back in 2013,after coming back from my training in Kolkata, I was keen to join a firm on a part-time basis.But in Lucknow,what I observed and what I felt was unfair and made me upset,was that girls /women were not encouraged to go to site visits of the projects that they were handling.Unlike,my present office,where the second day of my joining I was sent to three site visits of the projects that I was supposed to handle. Where it all begins...

My name is Antara, by profession-an architect(with a  licence ;)  ), age-  somewhere in the middle of where everybody wants to write a blog, become pensive and share it with the world, DoB-a cusp-born and a true Arian at heart, this, is my first blog, so please cut me some slack and don’t expect any refined write-ups!
